I had the pleasure of connecting with Emma Grace Moon this week. Emma is an affiliate marketing savant and founder of Praize Studio. She recently relocated to Paris (le dream) and writes her own Substack, where she has nearly gotten me to pull the trigger on the Paris move myself. You can get even more of her unique takes on the state of marketing here, too.
How do you define your taste?
Intentional, elevated, a little unexpected — and colorful. I love pieces with small, surprising details. Comfort is key, but so is craftsmanship.
What’s your clothing philosophy?
Buy less and wear the same outfits over and over. Don't think about it too much, lean on comfort. I’d rather have one beautifully made item that lasts years than five trendy pieces I’ll forget about next season. I love purchasing from small makers when I travel. A piece with a story is so much better.
Three words to describe your style?
Comfortable. Colorful. Feminine-with-a-bite.
Jeans, white tee shirt + _______?
My approach with a lot of things in life, whether it’s interior design, the foods I eat, or where I shop, is grassroots.
I have a strong focus on craftsmanship. Colorful jewelry has been my obsession recently.
Death row outfit?
Something flowy overall. I’ve always been conscious of how my body shows up in the world, which is somewhat unfortunate. These Meg pants.
Where are you shopping?
I only shop when I travel. I love pieces that have a story. My closet is chaos, but it’s because I have pieces from Argentina, Stockholm, and Mexico.
Uniqlo for basics :).
What’s the last thing you bought?
A vintage oak coffee table from the flea market in Paris.
What’s something you’re eyeing?
A new rug from Nordic Knots and (finally) some new running shorts — I’ve had the same pair since 2015. Kidding… but not really.
Where do you invest the most?
Shoes and jewelry. Especially unique, handmade pieces I find while traveling. I’m not afraid to spend if it’s special.
A trend you love?
Ballet flats and anything nature-inspired.
And one you hate?
Anything Kardashian-adjacent.
What is your favorite era?
I have family from Montana, and I love the western era, a good cowboy boot, flowy shirt, and denim — sign me up!”
What’s always in your bag?
typology! eyebrow brush, lip balm, portable charger, and cloth handkerchiefs
Where do you go when you need a hit of inspiration?
Going for a run or bikeride around Paris — that’s why I live here (goalz)—or sitting in ANY public library or public pool. It’s a great cure for homesickness!
If you think about how old everything is, the grit always brings me back to center. The US is like a tween, and Europe is the wise one.
Something is refreshing about a style that’s lived-in and fully lived. Emma’s reminds me: the best wardrobes aren’t built in seasons — they’re built in stories.
